Finding Your Place
While it is the dream of the
great majority high school players to obtain an athletic scholarship
from a prestigious D1 college program, many are not capable of
playing at that level. Some make the mistake of settling for any
program (offer) that comes along only to find out after they get
there that the school was a bad choice and/or they get little playing
time.
In the final analysis, many student athletes are making choices based
on the wrong set of criteria and failing to consider outstanding programs
at the D2, D3 or NAIA level in addition to D1. Finding Your Place will
help the prospective recruits (and parents) recognize the appropriate
athletic level and/or college attributes associated with each level that
is more in-line with their specific needs and capabilities.
Written
in collaboration with various college coaches, Finding Your Place
contains four essays describing
each level: NCAA D1, D2, D3 and
NAIA. Each level is explained in terms of college characteristics,
recruiting and scholarships, rules and eligibility, coaching
background, and schedules
and practices. Check it out -- see if you can “find your place.”
