The College of Wooster is regarded as one of the finest liberal arts colleges in the nation and is particularly noted for its music program. The college offers over 40 Bachelor degree programs. Head coach Steve Moore completed his 21st year at Wooster in 2007-08. Under Moore, the Scots have won 13 regular season NCAC championships, made 16 NCAA tournament appearances, and produced 21 consecutive winning seasons. Among active D3 coaches, Moore ranks 7th in winning percentage (.764) As an undergraduate at Wittenberg, Moore was team captain and later returned to Wittenburg as an assistant coach and then head coach at Mulenberg College before taking over head coaching duties at Wooster in 1987-88. During the 1990's, Moore's teams averaged 23 wins per season, finished either first or second in conference play seven times, and dominated league opposition with a 126-24 record over the decade. Wooster attendance is typically among the top ten D3 teams in the nation. Wooster went 23-5 in 2007-08 - their 12th straight 20+ win season - but was defeated in the first round of the NCAA tourney by Washington (St. Louis).

Wooster plays in the North Coast Athletic Conference (www.northcoast.org) The NCAC is comprised of 10 schools from Ohio, Indiana, and Pennsylvania. Conference play can commence in early December. The league schedule provides for each team being played twice except for two. Games are usually played on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. The farthest conference away game is at Wabash (Crawfordsville, IN) some 300 miles from Wooster. The season concludes with the NCAC tournament which takes the top eight teams with the tourney champion receiving an automatic bid to the NCAA Div. III Tournament.
