Head coach Jim Foster enters his 6th season at Ohio State in 2007-08. Foster, who arrived on campus in 2002-03, had previously spent 11 seasons at Vanderbilt (1991-2002) where he compiled a 256-99 (.721) record with all but one of his teams finishing in the top 25. In the five seasons prior to Foster taking the reins, Ohio State had compiled a mediocre .554 winning percentage and placed 7th or worse in Big 10 play four times. In his initial year, the Buckeyes went 22-10, the program's best showing since 1992-93, and finished nationally ranked at #20. In 2004-05, Foster produced the program's first 30 win season and nearly matched that in 2005-06 going 29-3. In 2006-07, the Buckeyes went 28-4 but were upset in the first round of the NCAA tourney by Marist. It was Foster's fifth NCAA appearance in five tries.
