Founded in 1926, Embry-Riddle is the world's oldest and largest university specializing in aviation and aerospace. If you want to learn to fly, Embry-Riddle is the place to go. Over 80% of the students are male. Touted has having one of the finest undergraduate programs in aerospeace engineering, the university offers over 20 Bachelor degree programs and seven Master's. Other majors offered include Meteorology, Business Admin., and Air Traffic Controller. US News 2008 report on America's Best Colleges ranked Embry-Riddle #13 among universities in the south offering a Master's degree. Head coach Steve Ridder completed his 19th season at Embry-Riddle in 2007-08. Ridder has become one of the nation's most successful and respected NAIA coaches. Under Ridder's watchful eye, the Eagles have advanced to the NAIA National Tournament on ten occasions, including six in a row from 1996-2001. In 2000 the Eagles won the NAIA National Championship. Additionally, his Embry-Riddle teams have garnered 11 regular-season titles and seven league tournament crowns. Not surprisingly, Ridder's squads appear regularly in the NAIA's top-25 national poll. Ridder was a standout player for Berea Collge (NAIA) and was an an assistant there for eight seasons. In 2007-08, the Eagles finished with an overall record of 27-7 but but lost in the first round of the NAIA tourney to Grace.

Embry Riddle plays in the Florida Sun Conference (www.fscsports.com) which is considered one of the strongest small conferences in the nation. It is comprised of six schools, all in Florida. Conference play comprises ten games with each team played twice, home and away. Conference play starts in January. Leagues games, more often than not, are played on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. The farthest conference away game is at Florida Memorial, some 250 miles away from campus.
