Cumberland plays in the MidSouth Conference (www.mid-southconference.org) which is comprised of six teams from Kentucky and Tennessee. Prior to the conference's realignment, the MidSouth was one of the most competitive NAIA conferences. Now, with just a ten game league schedule, the Patriots plays a very long pre-season that extends late into January. The 10 games often played on Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons. It is common for the women's games to be piggybacked with the men's. The season concludes with the Mid-South conference which includes all teams with the winner advancing to the NAIA national tourney.
