Head coach Kim Elders completed his 15th season at Cornerstone in 2007-08. Elders is Cornerstone's all-time winningest coach. Elders began his coaching career at Grand Rapids Baptist Academy posting a 70-29 record over five seasons. Arriving at CU in 1990, Elders first served as an assistant coach for three years before taking the head job in 1993-94. Inheriting a team that had losing seasons in five of the previous six years and never had back-to-back winning seasons since 1974-75, Elders quickly brought Cornerstone onto the national scene by capturing the NAIA championship in 1998-99 and being among the top 20 ranked teams eight times in his short tenure. Elders has averaged 25 wins per season and has had thirteen consecutive winning seasons. Besides coaching basketball, Elders is a professor of Kinesiology. In 2007-08, the Golden Eagles went 17-16.
