Head coach Mike Bokosky completed his 15th season at Chapman in 2007-08. Bokosky took over a program in 1992-93 that had endured three consecutive losing seasons and had not tasted any degree of success since the early 1960's. After a losing season his first year, Bokosky has produced fourteen consecutive winning seasons averaging 19 wins over the past eight years. Prior to Chapman, Bokosky served as an assistant coach in the Big West at Cal State Fullerton and U.C. Irvine. A native of Orange County, Bokosky graduated from Santa Ana Valley High and played at Riverside and Saddleback Community Colleges. In 2007-08, the Panthers finished at 20-7. Chapman plays an independent schedule.

Chapman plays an independent schedule which traditionally begins with its own Chapman Invitational. Game days vary. The schedule consists primarily of a mix of private Christian colleges and public institutions such as West Coast Baptist, Cal Lutheran, Biola, Caltech, Claremont, and UC Santa Cruz.
