Founded in 1909 by the Catholic Church, Carroll College is a small undergraduate institution offering 40 major area of studies including Public Relations, Nursing, Computer Science, and Education. It also offers pre-professional programs in medicine, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy, and veterinary medicine. US News 2008 report on America's Best Colleges ranked Carroll in the third tier among liberal arts institutions.

The campus is located in the state's capital of Helena (pop.27k). Outdoor recreational opportunities abound: hiking, mountain biking, camping, fishing and skiing excitement are just minutes from campus, and world-class mountaineering, rock and ice climbing and whitewater adventures are within easy driving distance.

Its football program is a perrenial NAIA powerhouse.

Head coach Gary Turcott completed his 18th season at Carroll in 2007-08. Though Gary's overall won-loss winning percentage is not that impressive (.624), the program has done an-about-face in the last eight seasons, producing a 193-61 record and advancing to the NAIA tournament six times and winning four conference championships. Prior to his arrival in 1990-91, Turcott was the boys basketball coach at Great Falls High School for 11 seasons. In 2004-05, Turcott lead the Frontier Conference Champion Fighting Saints into uncharted waters as Carroll advanced to the NAIA Final Four and set a school record with 28 wins. In 2007-08, Turcott turned in 22-7 mark but was eliminated in the first round by Robert Morris.

Conference and Schedule

Carroll is a member of the Frontier Conference which is comprised of eight teams from Montana, Idaho, and Utah. Though small, the Frontier is one the strongest NAIA I conferences. Carroll plays each team twice, home and away. Games are often played on Thursdays and Saturdays.
