Mark Thomas completed his 21st season at UW-Stout in 2007-08. Taking over a struggling program in 1987-88 -- the team had won only two games in the two previous seasons -- Thomas put the program back on the road to respectability and then some. Over the last 17 seasons the Blue Devils have finished in the top 4 of their conference 16 times and made ten NCAA appearances. Except for his first two years, Thomas has not had a losing season. Thomas stresses not only athletics but academics and the Blue Devil squad is consistently one of the top ranked academic squads at the D3 level. Before coming to Stout, Thomas was an assistant football and baseball coach at Spring Valley HS. In 2007-08, Thomas guided the team to a 17-10 record.
