Beth Baker completed her 22nd season in 2007-08 as Wheaton's all-time winningest coach. Baker has proudly kept the Wheaton winning tradition alive. Since the program's inception in 1960, Wheaton women have a .687 winning percentage. Baker's teams have accounted for more than half of those victories. Except for 2008, she has never had a losing season. Baker makes defense her top priority. During the 90's, Wheaton averaged 19 wins per season, finished 1st or 2nd in conference play six times, and made four consecutive NCAA appearances (96-99). A former player at Wheaton, Baker coached at the prep level before being given the head coaching job in 1986-87. In 2007-08, the Thunder went an uncharacteristic 12-13.
