Mention Division III women's basketball and Washington University of St. Louis is likely to be brought up in the same sentence. Head Coach Nancy Fahey completed her 22nd season in 2007-08 and ranks second in winning percentage among current D3 coaches. Four consecutive national championships (98,99,00, 01) -- the only coach in D3 history to have accomplished this -- affirms Fahey as one of the nation's premier coaches -- at any level. During the 90's, Fahey's teams captured the league title seven times, compiled a 125-17 record in conference play, averaged 24 wins per season, and finished 1999 and 2000 with undefeated seasons (60-0). A former player (point guard) at the University of Wisconsin, Fahey came to Washington after coaching at Johnsburg H.S. In 2007-08, the Bears went 19-8 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tourney (their 17th consecutive appearance) where they were upended by DePauw.
