Head coach Mark Campbell completed his 9th season at Union in 2007-08. In the NAIA, Union is equivalent to D1 Tennessee. Campbell inherited a program that had already established itself as a national power. Since the program's inception in 1972, Union's women's team has racked up an incredible 932-180 record while averaging 26 wins per season. They have won three NAIA national championships and, overall, they have yet to have a losing season and have had only three seasons when they have not won 20 or more games! During the decade of the 90's, the program had seven 30+ winning seasons. Campbell, who played at Lipscomb in the early 90's, joined the Union coaching staff in 1994 as an assistant and was promoted to head coach in 1999-00. Campbell has garnered eight conference titles, and advanced to the NAIA national tourney each year. In 2007-08, Campbell went 35-1 and advanced to the NAIA Final 4 before being upended by Vanguard.
