Founded in 1823, Trinity College (formerly known as Washington College) is a prestigious liberals arts school offering 37 majors. Degrees offered include Art History, Computer Science, Jewish Studies, Public Policy, Neuroscience, and Engineering. Its acceptace rates is among the lowest of liberal arts institutions. Trinity also offers a Master's degree in American Studies with a concentration in Museums. Head coach Stan Ogrondik completed his 27th season in 2007-08. Ogrodnik inherited a program that had mustered a mediocre .498 winning percentage before his arrival. Among active D3 coaches, Ogrodnik' s won-loss percentage of .714 places him in the top 20. In the last ten years, he has produced six 20+ winning seasons and made seven NCAA tournament appearances. Ogrodnik came to Trinity in 1979 as an assistant coach after coaching at the prep level (East Catholic High) for nine seasons. He was handed the reins in 1981-82. In 2007-08, the Bantams concluded their 15th consecutive winning season with a 21-7 record but lost in the first round of the NCAA tourney to Coast Guard.

Trinity plays in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (www.nescac.com) consisting of eleven highly selective liberal arts colleges located in New England and New York. Several of the colleges in this conference are sometimes referred to as the Little Ivies. League play starts in January with games typically played on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons. The top seven teams qualify for the NESCAC tourney; single elimination, top seed hosts, first place team receives first round bye, with the winner receiving an automatic bid the to the NCAA tourney.
