Kristy Curry, who coached at Purdue for seven years, enters her second season as the Lady Raiders head coach in 2007-08. Curry took over from Marsha Sharp, Texas Tech's all-time winningest coach. Under Sharp, the Lady Raiders averaged 24 wins per season and made 17 NCAA appearances. However, Curry is a bonafide Division I coach having led the Boilermakers to a 179-51 mark during her tenure there while winning two Big Ten titles and making an NCAA appearance every year. Before her stint at Purdue, Curry was an assistant coach at Louisana Tech under the legendary Leon Barmore. Curry began her coaching career at Weston and Mansfield high schools in Louisana. In 2006-07, Curry's inaugural season, the Lady Raiders finished with an uncharactersitic record of 15-16.
