Head coach Pat Summitt enters her 34th season at Tennessee in 2007-08. Hired in 1974-75 at the age of 22, Summitt has captured nearly every record. Among D1 programs, no other school has posted more wins than Tennessee. With 947 career wins, Summit passed Texas' Jody Conradt on the all time win list in 2003-04. Among active D1 coaches, she is ranked second in winning percentage. Even among men coaches, Summitt ranks among the best as attested by her six national titles. Only Johnny Wooden has more. Over the last 31 years, Summitt's teams have won 24 conference titles and produced over 28 wins per season. In her worst season the Lady Vols went 16-11. Summitt, a former player at Tennessee-Martin, is also an Olympian -- having played in the 1976 games and lifting the U.S. team to the Silver Medal. In 2006-07, the Lady Vols finished at 34-3 and beat Rutgers for the National Championship.
