Taylor plays in the Mid Central Conference (www.mid.centralconf.org), one of the oldest NAIA conferences. All but one of the nine schools that make up the conference are located in Indiana. Conference play can begin in December with non-conference opponents mixed in until January. The farthest conference game is at Mishawaka some 120 miles from Upland. Taylor will play each team twice, home and away. Games are typically played on Tuesday evening and Saturday afternoon. The season concludes with the Mid Central tourney which includes all eight teams with the winner receiving an automatic NAIA tournament berth.
Spring Arbor, Bethel, St. Francis, Marian, Goshen, Grace, Huntington, and Indiana Wesleyan. (Patterson typically schedules a tough pre-season with games against NCAA D2 and even D1 opponents.)
