Head coach Rob Kornaker completed his seventh season at St. John Fisher in 2007-08. Joining the program in 2001-02 as an assistant, Kornaker was asked to assume head duties in 2002-03, taking over a program that had averaged 20 wins in its previous three years. Kornaker had an uneventful inaugural season - going 13-13. Since then, however, he has produced five 20+ winning seasons, garnered four conference titles, and made five NCAA tournament appearances. In 2005 he led the Cardinals to a best-ever 28-1 mark. Before coming to St. John Fisher, Kornaker was an assistant coach at SUNY-Geneseo. In 2007-08, the Cardinals went 17-12.
