Head coach Gary Andrews enters his 8th season at St. Francis in 2007-08. Andrews inherited a program in 2000-01 that had averaged 28 wins per season over the previous five years. Andrews did not disappoint, going 32-6 his inaugural season, leading the Cougars to the NAIA Elite 8 before falling to the eventual champion Hastings. Prior to his arrival at St. Francis, Andrews coached nine years at Bishop Luer HS, compiling a 167-44 record. Andrews played prep ball at Bellmont HS in Decatur, Indiana, and was named Adams County Player of the Year his senior season. After a 28-8 mark in 2005-06, the Cougars turned in the same record in 2006-07 plus an Elite 8 appearance in the NAIA tournament, losing to Mid America Nazarene.
