Founded in 1885, Rollins College is the oldest four year institution in Florida. Located on the shores of Lake Virginia, Rollins offers 28 undergraduate and six graduate degree programs. Some of the programs offered include International Relations, Enviornmental Studies, Latin American Affairs, and Theatre Arts. Women make up nearly two-thirds of those enrolled. US News 2008 report on America's best colleges ranked Rollins #1 among universities in the south offering a Master's degree. Head coach Glenn Wilkes, Jr. enters his 22nd season at Rollins in 2007-08. Wilkes arrived in 1986-87, inheriting a program that posted just 2 winning seasons in the previous 15 years. Wilkes has put Rollins College on the map, producing seventeen 20+ winning seasons in the last 21 years while averaging 22 wins per season. Over that time span, Wilkes has garnered seven first place finishes and made eight NCAA appearances. Wilkes played at Stetson and served as an assistant for one year after graduation. In 2006-07, the Tars went 24-7 but were beaten in the first round of the NCAA tourney by ArkansasTech.

Rollins plays in the Sunshine State Conference (www.ssconference.org) which is comprised of nine schools, all in Florida. Conference play starts in January. The 16 game schedule provides for playing each team twice, home and away. Games are typically played on Wednesday and Saturday evenings and are piggybacked with the men's. The season concludes with the Sunshine State Tourney which takes all nine teams with the winner receiving an automatic NCAA berth.
