Founded in 1830, Randolph-Macon is a traditional liberal arts institution offering about 30 majors in education, business, international relations, and computer science, in addition to the liberal arts. Mike Rhoades completed his 9th season at Randolph-Macon in 2007-08. Rhoades took over the program in 1999-00 after serving as an assistant coach for three seasons. During his time as an assistant with the Yellow Jackets, Rhoades helped the team to a three-year overall record of 57-25 (.695). During his short tenure, Rhoades has averaged nearly 20 wins per season and made four NCAA appearances. A 1995 graduate of Lebanon Valley College, Rhoades was a standout player and was named a four-time conference all-star, first-team All-American, and National Player of the Year. At the time of his graduation, Rhoades was LVC's all-time leading scorer (2,050 career points). In 2006-07, the Yellow Jackets went 20-6 but did not receive an NCAA bid.

Randolph Macon plays in the Old Dominion Conference (www.odaconline.com) the second largest D3 conference. Its 14 member schools are located primarily in Virginia, with other members in North Carolina and Washington, DC. The ODAC is considered one of more competitive D3 conferences. League play usually starts in late November or early December. The Yellow Jackets will play each team twice, home and away. The The season concludes with the ODAC tourney which includes the top eight teams. There are no byes and games are played at neutral sites. The winner receives an automatic NCAA berth
Hollins, Lynchburg, Hampton-Sydney, Guilford, Roanoke, Washington and Lee, Eastern Mennonite, Bridgewater, Roanoke, Sweet Briar, Virginia Wesleyan, and Emory and Henry.
