Head coach Sherri Coale enters her 12th season at Oklahoma in 2007-08. Since taking over a stagnant program in the mid-90s, Coale had to endure two poor seasons before things got on track. Since 1990, Coale has made seven NCAA appearances and finished first in conference play five times. In 2005-06 she was undefeated in league play. Not surprisingly, attendance has soared and Oklahoma's women's program is consistently ranked among the top 20 teams in attendance. Coale, a graduate/player from Oklahoma Christian, got her first head coaching job at Norman HS where she coached seven seasons before being asked to take over the Sooner program in 1996-97. Coming off a 31-5 record in 2005-06, the Sooners went 28-5 in 2006-07 and advanced to the Sweet 16 before falling to Mississippi.
