Head coach Dan Miles completed his 37th season at Oregon Tech in 2007-08. Oregon Tech has dominated west coast basketball for years and virtually own their conference. Miles reached the 800 win plateau in 2007, putting him among an elite group -- at any level. Only one other active coach in the NAIA has posted more victories and no coach has won as many games at one institution. His teams have been ranked in the NAIA top twenty-five 25 times. A former college football standout, Miles inherited a team in 1971 that had gone 1-21 the previous year and within three years took the Hustlin' Owls to the NAIA national tourney. In 2007-08, the Owls went 31-6 and beat Bellevue for the National NAIA championship.

Oregon Tech plays in the Cascade Collegiate Conference (www.cascadeconference.org) which has evolved into one of the most formidable small college leagues. The conference is comprised of 11 schools from Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. With a large number of conference games (20), a few league games are scheduled in December with the bulk of them resuming in January. More often than not, league games are played on Friday and Saturday evenings. The Owls play each team twice, home and away. The regular season winner advances to the NAIA II national tournament as does the winner of the Cascade Conference tournament which consists of eight teams and three rounds. In the event that the regular season winner also wins the tournament, the tournament runner-up would advance.
Evergreen State, Cascade, Warner Pacific, Southern Oregon, Concordia, Albertson, Eastern Oregon, Northwest Christian, Northwest University, and Corban (formerly Western Baptist).
