Up until 2004-05, North Dakota State played in the North Central Conference (www.northcentralconference.org), considered by most as one of the most competitive D2 conferences in the nation. However, NDSU is currently in its third of a five-year transition from NCAA Division II to Division I.
A fixture in the North Central Conference for 25 years, the Bison will play a independent schedule with several Division I opponents in 06-07.
