Misc. Information

Head coach Bob Bolen completed his 14th season at Mountain State in 2007-08. When Bolen was hired there was no basketball team, no athletic facilities, no dorms, and no student athletes. In 14 years Mountain State University has risen to the top of the NAIA. Over the last eight years, Bolen's teams have averaged 30 wins per season and in 2003-04 Mountain State University had the best record, 38-1, of any college team in the country. For three years in a row (2004, 2005 and 2006) MSU was the number one ranked team in the NAIA. In addition, MSU is typically ranked among the top 10 NAIA teams in offense. In 2007-08, the Cougars went 34-3 but lost in the final championship round to Oklahoma City.
