Misc. Information

Head Coach Mary Fleig enters her 18th season at Millersville in 2007-08. Fleig's success at Millersville mirrors what she achieved at nearby Franklin-Marshall where she turned that program into a D3 powerhouse. Since arriving in 1990-91, Fleig's teams have posted a 299-169 record, captured four division titles, averaged 17 wins per season, and never had a losing season. In six of the last nine seasons, she has posted 20+-win seasons and made five NCAA tournament appearances (1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2005). Over the last eight years, Millersville has compiled a 160-74 record, including the program's most victorious campaign ever in 1999-2000 (25-7). A native of Harrisburg, Fleig was a 3-sport athlete at Central Dauphin High and went on to play four years of basketball at Lock Haven. In 2006-07, the Marauders finished at 17-11 but did not receive an NCAA bid.

Conference and Schedule

Millersville plays in the eastern division of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (www.psacsports.org), one of the largest and most respected D2 conferences in the nation. The 14 schools, all in Pennsylvania, are split into two divisions, east and west. Millersville plays in the east. The 12 game league schedule commences in January. Millersville plays each team in the east division twice, home and away. Games played against western division teams do not count as part of the division record. League games are often played on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons and piggybacked with the men's. The farthest conference away game is at Edinboro some 350 miles from Millersville. The season concludes with the PSAC tournament which takes the top four teams from each division with crossover play starting in the semi-finals. The winner receives an automatic NCAA berth.
