Head coach Kevin Luke enters his 14th season at Michigan Tech in 2007-08. Luke, a Michigan native, is MTU's all-time winningest coach after having served as the program's top assistant and chief recruiter for seven seasons before being handed the reins in 1994-95. Luke inherited a perrenial cellar-dweller and has turned the program into one of the best in the Midwest. Prior to his coming to MTU, Luke served as an assistant coach at his high school alma mater Westwood High. Luke also played ball at MTU from 1977-80. Over the last 13 seasons, Luke has averaged 19 wins per season, never had a losing season, and has made five NCAA appearances. On the heels of a 14-14 record in 2005-06, Luke was unable to turn the tide in 2006-07 going 13-15. It was Luke' s first losing season.
