Head coach Becky Martin completed her 26th season at McDaniel in 2007-08. Martin, a multisport star at Westminster High, took over in 1980-81 just one year after her high school graduation at the age of 19. After three losing seasons to start her coaching career, Martin has had 18 consecutive seasons of .500 or better records. As a former player at McDaniel, the 5'9 center became the team's first 1000 point scorer (1,299) and still holds the program's single season record for scoring average (23) and career (19). In 2007-08, the Green Terror went 13-13, breaking a string of four consecutive years of 20 or more wins.

McDaniel plays in the Centennial Conference (www.centennial.org) which is comprised of 11 teams from Maryland and Pennsylvania. Among D3 conferences, the Centennial would be considered average. League play can commence in late November or early December though non-league opponents are mixed in until January. There is a two week winter break. Currently, McDaniel plays four teams twice, and the remainder once, for a total of 18 games. The farthest conference away game is at Muhlenberg some 140 miles from campus. Games are often played on Wednesday and Saturdays. The conference winner receives an automatic NCAA bid. The season concludes with the Centennial tourney which includes the top four teams (other than the conference winner) with the winner of eligible for an at-large bid to the NCAA tourney.
