Founded in 1927, The Master's College was originally named the L.A. Baptist Theological Seminary. The Master's offers a traditional liberal arts curriculum and nearly 50 Bachelor degrees. Majors offered include Athletic Training/Sports Medicine , Computer/Information Sciences, Broadcast Journalism, and Film Production/Cinematography. The Biblical Counseling Program is one of only three such programs in the nation to teach the exclusive application of Scripture in personal counseling. Chapel and church attendance are important facets of the student's lives and are required. TMC is the only evangelical college in the U.S. to maintain an extension campus (called IBEX) and a full-time faculty in Israel, allowing students the option to spend a semester in the Holy Land. US News 2008 report on America's Best Colleges ranked Master's #2 among universities in the west offering a Bachelor's degree.

The 100 acre campus is located in Santa Clarita (pop.150k) about 30 miles north of Los Angeles.

Misc. Information

Head coach Ken Sugarman completed his 13th season at the Master's in 2007-08. Sugarman returned to his alma mater in 1995-96 to find the women's program in disarray. Though his first few seasons were uneventful, Sugarman has been phenomenal since 2000-01, producing 20+ winning seasons in six of the last eight years while averaging 22 wins per season! He also took his teams to the NAIA national tournament five times. Sugarman played basketball at Whitworth College and the Master's. Coming off a 15-13 mark 2006-07, the Lady Mustangs went 21-12 in 2007-08 and lost in the second round of the NAIA tourney to Union (TN), the same team that knocked them out in the previous two years.
