UMass Lowell plays in the Northeast 10 (www.northeast10.org) which has established itself as the premier D2 conference. It is the second largest conference made up of 15 schools from six New England States. The 22 game league schedule starts in late November or early December though non-conference opponents are scheduled up until January 1. League games are usually played on Tuesday evening and Saturday afternoon and are piggybacked with the women's. Because the league is so large, not every team is played the customary 2x. The season concludes with the Northeast 10 Tourney which includes 12 teams with first round byes for the top four teams. The winner receives an automatic NCAA berth.
