Head coach Bill Finney completed his 25th season at Marymount in 2007-08. The women's program at Marymount has a rich history and is among the top D3 programs in terms of all-time winning percentage (.729). The Saints rank 12th among winningest teams. All of the credit goes to Finney who joined the program just one one year after its inception in 1982-83. Finney has made Marymount into one of the most competitive and respected programs in the nation. Through the last 25 seasons, Finney's teams have compiled a 504-183 record. Along the way, Marymount teams have won two national scoring titles and made 14 trips to the NCAA post season tourney, including one Final Four, one Elite 8, and six Sweet 16 appearances. Finney played basketball at Syracuse University on an athletic scholarship. In 2007-08, the Saints went 23-6 but lost in the first round of the NCAA tourney to Salem State.
