Head coach Lynn Plett enters his first season in 2007-08. Plett takes over from Josh Keister who produced a 69-23 record over three seasons. Plett comes to MWSU from Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois where he led the Flyers program for the previous five seasons (2002-2007). At Lewis, Plett inherited a program that finished 7-19 but in just three seasons he led the Flyers to a 19-11 record and an NCAA Tournament appearance. During the 2006-07 season, Plett led his team to a school best 28-4 record. In 2006-07, the Griffons went 30-4 and made their first NCAA appearance, losing to Texas A&M in the second round.

Conference and Schedule

Missouri Western plays in the Mid America Intercollegiate Conference (www.themiaa.com) which has gained the reputation of being one of the top D2 conferences in the nation. The conference is comprised of ten teams from Missouri and Kansas. MWSC will play each team twice, home and away. League play starts in January and games are often played on Wednesday evening and Saturday afternoon. Many games are piggybacked with the men's. The season concludes with the MIAA tournament which takes the top eight teams with the winner receiving an automatic berth in the NCAA tournament.

Central Misouri State, Emporia State, Missouri Southern State, Southwest Baptist, Northwest Missouri State, Pittsburg State, Truman State, Fort Hays, and Washburn State.
