Misc. Information

Head coach Todd Lee completed his 3rd year at Kentucky Wesleyan in 2007-08. Lee took over for Ray Harper who completed his final season at KWC in 2004-05. (Technically, Lee's limited head coaching experience does not qualify KWC for listing at CBSAguide. However, due to the program's tremendous past success they remain listed.) In the last 53 years, KWC has had only eight losing seasons. Unfortunately for Lee, two of those have come under Lee. A former associate head coach at the University of California-Irvine and assistant at Cal State Bakersfield, Lee was instrumental in helping both programs produce outstanding seasons. In his three years at Bakersfied, Lee contributed to the team's 75-16 record and at Irvine, helped guide the Anteaters to three consecutive 20+ winning seasons under Pat Douglass. After two losing seasons, Lee redeemed himself in 2007-08, going 24-8 and making a first round NCAA appearance, losing to Northern Kentucky.

Conference and Schedule

Kentucky Wesleyan plays in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (www.glvcsports.com). The GLVC is one of the premier D2 conferences. In 2005-06, the GLVC expanded to 14 teams in five states. The league is split into two divisions. KWU competes in the east. KWU will play each team in its division twice and each team from the other division once for a total of 19 games. KWU may begin playing conference opponents in late November or early December but only consistently after January 1. Each opponent is played twice, home and away, with games often played on Thursdays and Saturdays. It is common for league games to be piggybacked with the women's. The season concludes with the GLVC tourney which takes the top eight teams with the winner receiving an automatic NCAA berth.

Conference Opponents

West: Rockhurst, Drury, Southern Indiana, Missouri-St. Louis, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Quincy and Missouri-Rolla. East: Northern Kentucky, Saint Joseph's, Bellarmine, Lewis, Indianapolis, U. of Wisconsin-Parkside.

Facilities

Owensboro Sportscenter
Capacity 5,000, Average attendance (4,000)

Style/Stats

Lee likes his teams to push the ball up the floor and attack the basket before the defense gets set. He will run some NBA type sets into a motion and play man-to-man and mix in some zone and ¾ court pressing.
