Head coach Deb Patterson enters her 12th season at KSU in 2007-08. KSU's all-time winningest coach, Patterson has returned the program to respectability after inheriting a team in 1996-97 that had endured five consecutive losing seasons. Though Patterson struggled her first five years, she has been on fire since 2001-02, averaging 24 wins per season while making 4 NCAA and two WNIT appearances. In 2006, the Wildcats won the WNIT championship. Prior to coming to KSU, Patterson was an assistant coach at Vanderbilt, Southern Illinois, and Northern Illinois. In 2006-07, she led the Wildcats to a 19-15 mark and advanced all the way to the WNIT Final Four before losing to Wyoming.
