Head coach Bill Gibbons enters his 21st season at Holy Cross in 2007-08. Gibbons has led the Crusaders to eleven Patriot League championships and twelve NCAA appearances in his 20 years. HC's all-time winningest coach, Gibbons has averaged 19 wins per season over the last eight years. In the last 12 years, Gibbons has won 20 more games each year but three. Prior to his appointment in 1985-86, Gibbons served as an assistant for four years. Though the Patriot league is not the Big 10 or ACC, Gibbons plays top level competition and subsequently garners national respect. Not bad for school with less than 3,000 students. The Crusaders have struggled the last several seasons. Still, in 2006-07, despite a 15-18 mark, Holy Cross did make it to the NCAA tourney falling in the first round to Duke.
