Founded in 1827, Hanover College is a traditional liberal arts institution offering undergraduate degrees in 29 major fields of study. Head coach Jon Miller takes over in 2008-09. Miller replaced Dr. Mike Beitzel who completed 20 seasons at Hanover, compiling a 390-182 record in the process. Miller, a 1997 Hanover graduate, returns to his alma mater after serving five years as head coach at Defiance. While there, Miller turned in a 67-63 record. Miller was a four-year starter, team captain, and team MVP. Following his collegiate playing career, Miller served as the top assistant at DePauw before coming back to Hanover in 1999, helping them go 87-20 as an assistant coach. The Panthers went 13-13 in 2007-08.

Hanover plays in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (www.heartlandconf.org), comprised of eight liberal arts schools from Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky. League play commences after January 1 with games usually played on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Hanover will play each team twice, home and away for a total of 14 contests. The farthest conference game is at Defiance some 250 miles from campus. The season concludes with the Heartland tourney which includes all teams with the #1 seed receiving a first round bye. Winner receives automatic NCAA bid.
