Head coach Tracy Wyatt Raban takes over from Steve Harold in 2007-08. Tracy has big shoes to fill. In Harold's 12 seasons, he produced eight consecutive 20+ winning seasons and made six NCAA appearances; three trips to the Sweet 16, one Elite 8, and one to the semi-finals while compiling a sterling .710 winning percentage. A former Glenville State star from 2001-2004, this will be Tracy's first head collegiate coaching position having come most recently from the high school ranks (Graham High School, Bluefield, KY) where she guided her team to three regular season and one regional championship. In 2006-07, the Lady Pioneers produced their second consecutive 30+ winning season (33-3) and advanced to the Elite 8 of the NCAA tourney before losing to UC San Diego.

Glenville State plays in the West Virigina Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (www.wviac.org), one of the oldest D2 conferences. The WVIAC is comprised of 16 teams -- all but two from West Virginia. Conference play can start in early December though non-confernence opponents are scheduled until January. Currently, Glenville State plays each team once, and four teams twice. League games are usually played on Monday and Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Games are often piggybacked with the women's. The season concludes with the WVIAC tourney which takes all teams (top seed gets a first round bye) with the winner receiving an automatic berth in the NCAA tourney.
