Founded in 1919, Emmanuel is a traditional liberal arts institution offering over 20 Bachelor degree programs as well as graduate programs in Human Resources, Management, and Education. Emmanuel was a women's college until 2001. Over half of those enrolled are Business majors. Emmanuel is one of six neighboring institutions that form the Colleges of the Fenway (Emmanuel, Mass College of Art, Mass College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Simmons College, Wentworth Institute, and Wheelock College) and permit students to enroll in courses at any of the schools. Nearly 3/4 of those enrolled are women. US News 2008 report on America's Best Colleges ranked Emmanuel #57 among universites in the north offering a Master's degree. Head coach Andrew (Andy) Yosinoff completed his 31st year as head coach at Emmanuel in 2007-08. Yosinoff came to Emmanuel in 1997-88. Surpassing 500 wins in 2004-05, Yosinoff has averaged more than 18 wins per season during his 31 years. In addition, Emmanuel has dominated conference opponents -- losing just a total of three games in the past eight years! A 1970 graduate of Rhode Island, Yosinoff also serves as the school's Athletic Director. In 2007-08, Yosinoff coached the Saints to a 22-7 record but lost in the first round of the NCAA tourney to Brockport.

Emmanuel plays in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (www.thegnac.com) which is comprised of 10 schools from Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. The conference is not considered strong by D3 standards. Conference play begins in January after a three week winter break. The farthest conference away game is at Norwich (Northfield, VT) some 150 miles from campus. Game days vary. The season concludes with the GNAC tourney which takes the top eight teams with the top four hosting the first round games. The winner receives an automatic NCAA berth.
Albertus Magnus, Daniel Webster, Emerson, Johnson and Wales, Norwich, Pine Manor, Rivier, Suffolk, and Western New England. Lasell and Mount Ida will joint in 2007-08.
