Misc. Information

Head coach Jason Conner completed his second season at Delta State in 2007-08. Conner took over from Steve Rives who guided the Statesmen to a 426-193 (.688) record over twenty years. Part of that success goes to Conner who served as Rives' assistant coach for the last seven years. Before arriving at Delta State, Conner served the 1998-99 season as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of South Alabama and before that at the University of Houston as the recruiting coordinator and assistant coach on the Cougars staff. Before taking the position at the University of Houston, Conner was the head men’s basketball and golf coach at his alma mater Belhaven College. In Conner's inaugural season (2006-07) he posted a respectable 18-10 mark. In 2007-08, he went 14-12.
