Head coach Kris Huffman completed her 15th season at DePauw in 2007-08. Huffman inherited a dead-on-arrival program that had losing seasons in 13 of 15 years prior to her taking the reins. DePauw's winningest coach, Huffman has taken the program to new heights since the mid-90's, capturing nine conference championships, and making nine NCAA tourney appearances, including a D3 national championship in 2007. Huffman, former D1 standout player at Northern Iowa, served as an assistant coach at Wartburg (D3) for four seasons before coming to DePauw in 1993-94. In 2007-08, Huffman led the Tigers to a 28-4 record and advanced to the Elite 8 before falling UW-Whitewater.

DePauw plays in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (www.scac-online.org) regarded as one of the most competitive D3 women's conferences in the nation. Currently, the SCAC is made up of 12 private liberal arts institutions from seven different states where the primary focus is on academics. League play comprises 18 games. Games are typically on Fridays and Sundays. The farthest conference game is at Trinity, some 1,100 miles from campus. The season concludes with the SCAC tourney which matches the top eight teams. The winner receives an automatic bid to the NCAA National Tournament.
Austin, Centre, Hendrix, Millsaps, Ogelthorpe, Rhodes, Sewanee, Southwestern, and Trinity (Texas). Colorado College and Birmingham-Southern join in 2007-08.
