Conference and Schedule

Central Arkansas plays in the Gulf South Conference (www.gulfsouthconference.org) which is the largest D2 conference in the nation, comprised of 18 teams from six southeastern states. The GSC is divided into two divisions and Central Arkansas plays in the West division. The 16 game conference schedule starts after January 1 with games often played on Monday and Thursday or Saturday evenings. Though there are two divisions, there is no cross-divisional play. The Sugar Bears will play each team twice in its own division. The farthest conference away game is at Delta State some 200 miles from campus. The season concludes with the Gulf South tourney where all members play a double round robin versus teams in their own division. The top four teams in each division advance to the single elimination tourney and the winner is an automatic NCAA bid.
