Founded in 1847, Carthage is a small liberal arts institution offering majors in more than 30 subject areas and a Masters in Education. Head coach Bosko Djurickovic completed his 12th season at Carthage in 2007-08. Formerly at North Park College where he compiled at 196-79 record and produced two national championships, Djurickovic has brought his winning ways to Carthage. Inheriting a program in 1996-97 that had had eight losing seasons in the previous ten years and not tasted a conference championship since 1964, Djurickovic has averaged nearly 18 wins per season, won three conference championships, and made three NCAA appearances. After two losing seasons, the Redmen improved in 2006-07 going 16-9. In 2007-08 they went 13-12.

Carthage plays in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (www.cciw.org) which is comprised of eight schools. The CCIW is generally considered one of the more competitive D3 conferences. Carthage's season can begin in early January with the 14 game league schedule being played on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Cathage will play each team twice, home and away. The farthest conference game is at Millikin some 200 miles from campus. The Conference winner receives an automatic bid to the NCAA tourney. There is no post season conference tournament at this time.
