Head coach Jeff Judkins enters his seventh season at BYU in 2007-08. The long time Utah coach joined the BYU women's program in 2001-02 after serving as an assistant on the University of Utah's men's team for 10 seasons and two years as an assistant on the BYU men's team. In his short tenure, Judkins has gone 126-62 while making four NCAA appearances. Judkins came to Provo with a proven record of success dating back to his high school days at Highland High School in Salt Lake City. An all-state selection in basketball, football and baseball, Judkins went on to play for the University of Utah from 1974-78. Judkins also played in the NBA for five years. In 2006-07, Judkins took the Lady Cougars to a 23-10 record but lost in the first round of the NCAA tourney to Louisville.

Conference and Schedule

BYU is a member of the Mountain West Conference (www.themwc.com) which is comprised of nine teams from seven states. It is the newest member of the Division I conferences, with most of the schools coming from the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). League plays starts after January 1 with games usually played on Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Utah plays a 16 game schedule, playing each team twice, home and away.
