Head coach TJ Hardeman took over from Danelle Liles in 2007-08. Under Liles, Azusa Pacific had reeled off four consecutive 20+ winning seasons and four NAIA tournament appearances. Hardeman comes to Azusa Pacific after spending the past three seasons as the women’s head coach at conference rival Hope International where he put together one of the most remarkable turnarounds in conference history. Prior to taking over the Hope program, Hardeman spent 20 seasons at the prep level, serving 7 years at Paramount (Calif.) High before moving on to Troy High in Fullerton, Calif., where he coached for 13 more campaigns. While at Troy, he led the Warriors to the CIF playoffs 11 times. In TJ's inaugural season (2007-08), he led the Cougars went 24-8 mark but lost to Wiley in the first round of the NAIA I national tournament.
