Rusty Osborne completed his third season at Alaska-Anchorage in 2007-08. Under Osborne’s leadership, UAA has gone 67-27 over the past three seasons, including victories over Division I power Southern Illinois and eight nationally ranked D-II teams. From 1991-2004, Osborne spent 13 seasons as an assistant with the Seawolves. Osborne joined the UAA staff after serving under former Seawolf coach Harry Larrabee three seasons (1988-91) at Div. I Southwest Texas State. In 2007-08, Osborne earned the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Coach-of-the-Year award as UAA posted the best record in school history (29-6), won its first GNAC title, and advanced to the NCAA Final four for the first time in 20 years, losing to Augusta State.

UAA plays in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (www.gnacsports.com) which is currently comprised of 9 schools. Currently, UAA plays all schools twice, home and away. League play usually commences in late November or early December. Games are often played on Thursday and Saturday evenings. Currently, the GNAC does not offer a post season tourney. The regular season conference champion receives an automatic NCAA bid.
