Head coach Steve Crotz completed his 12th season at AUM in 2007-08. Crotz took over a successful program in 1996-97 and has continued the program's winning ways. The program has been around since 1986, with the Lady Senators having qualified for 16 NAIA tournaments appearances. Under Crotz, AUM has qualified for the NAIA tourney every year but two while averaging 23 wins per season. In 2000 and 2001 he led the Lady Senators to 33 and 34 win seasons respectively and in 2001 lost to Oklahoma City for the national championship. Crotz's teams are noted for their intensity and hard defense. Prior to his arrival, Crotz was equally successful at Lindenwood College (NAIA). His 27 year career won-loss total is an impressive 619-277 making him one of the most successful NAIA coaches. In 2007-08, the Lady Senators finished with an uncharacteristic 12-18 mark.
