Head coach Mike Turner completed his 34th year at Albion in 2007-08. During Turner's lengthy tenure, he has captured 5 conference championships and made four NCAA appearances. Turner, who coached golf at Albion before taking on the basketball program in 1974-75, ranks 12th among active D3 coaches in victories. Over the last eight years, Turner's teams have averaged nearly 19 wins per season. After a 10-15 record last year, Turner got back on track in 2007-08 going 19-6.

Albion is a member of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association America (www.miaa.org) which is comprised of ten teams located in the states of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Indiana. The conference is the oldest college athletic conference. Conference play begins in January with games usually played on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons and are piggybacked with the women's. Albion plays a 14 game schedule and will play each team twice, home and away. The top six teams play in a single elimination post-season tourney with the winner receiving an automatic NCAA bid. The top two teams receive first round byes with high seeds hosting.
